Grady J. Gratt was born in Los Angeles. Later he moved to Mercer Island, Washington with his family. He then went on to graduate from Western Washington University, majoring in communications.

Grady spent his youth and college years as a drama geek, going to auditions, learning lines, and getting parts. He has been a principal actor in over a dozen stage plays and got his Screen Actors Guild card doing a few national TV commercials. After experiencing both the stage and the screen, Grady learned that he much preferred performing in front of live audiences versus smiling into a red-eyed camera.

Grady grew out of his drama phase in college, preferring to create his own stories. After college he spent his working life trapped in boring call centers working tech support. Desperate to leave that world, Grady chose to make his passion for writing into a career. Grady writes constantly and continually, on any subject that catches his interest, with a focus toward Urban Fantasy.
